Traditional Braces

Metal and ceramic braces remain the most reliable solution for correcting complex bite and alignment issues.

What Is Traditional Braces?

Traditional braces use metal brackets bonded to each tooth and connected by an archwire. Over time — typically 18 months to 3 years — gentle, continuous pressure moves teeth into their ideal positions. Ceramic braces work the same way but use tooth-colored or clear brackets for a less noticeable appearance. Braces are effective for nearly every orthodontic case, from simple crowding to severe bite problems.

How It Works

At your first orthodontic appointment, X-rays, photos, and impressions or digital scans are taken to plan treatment. Brackets are bonded to teeth and the wire is threaded through. You return monthly (or every 6–8 weeks) for wire adjustments. After braces come off, a retainer holds the result.

Key Benefits

  • Typically less expensive than Invisalign
  • No discipline required — you can't forget to wear them
  • Ceramic options are much less visible than traditional metal
  • Proven technology with decades of clinical data
